Hi, I'm Matt
BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation, BASRaT registered
I played rugby and cricket for years, and a serious knee injury taught me first-hand how frustrating recovery can be, both physically and mentally.
That's why I don't do quick fixes. Every session combines hands-on treatment with exercises tailored to you, so you leave knowing exactly what to do between visits.

Follow-up rehab session
Hands-on treatment, progressing your exercises and checking your recovery is on track. This is where most of the real progress happens.
£50Book -
Sports and deep tissue massage
Good for muscle tightness, recovery from training or easing everyday tension. Massage sessions don't include a full assessment, but we'll always have a quick chat about what you need first.

About Matt
Matthew Borland, BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation, BASRaT registered and fully insured
I'm passionate about helping athletes and everyday people recover, rebuild and reach their full potential. With hands-on experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance, I know every body and every recovery is different.
I specialise in tailored programmes that go beyond just treating the injury. Whether it's long-standing pain, stiffness or getting stronger, my goal is to get you back to doing what you love, more resilient than before.
Having played rugby and cricket, and come back from a severe knee injury myself, I understand the physical and mental side of recovery. My approach combines hands-on therapy, corrective exercise and strength work for results that last.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, trying to prevent the next one, or pushing your performance further, I'll guide you every step of the way.
Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Call 07523 986 827 or send a message.
Before you book
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with me, with no referral needed.
What is a Sports Rehabilitator?
A Sports Rehabilitator is a degree-trained specialist in muscle, joint and movement problems, with a strong focus on exercise-based rehab to get you back to full strength. I'm registered with BASRaT, the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers, which sets the standards for training and practice.
Do I need to be sporty to come?
Not at all. I see plenty of athletes, but also people with back or neck pain from desk work, gym-goers with a niggle, and people recovering from surgery. If pain or stiffness is stopping you doing what you want to do, I can help.
What do you treat?
Most commonly lower back, neck, shoulder, knee and ankle pain, and gym or sports injuries. I also help with recovery after surgery, return to sport and injury prevention. If you're not sure whether I can help, send me a message first.
Should I book an assessment or a massage?
If you have pain, an injury or something that isn't getting better, book an assessment so we can find the cause. If you just want to ease tight muscles or recover from training, a sports massage is a good choice.
Your appointments
What happens at my first appointment?
We'll talk through your injury, history and goals, then I'll assess how you move to find what's causing the problem. You'll start treatment in the same session and leave with a clear plan and exercises to begin straight away.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. Shorts are useful for knee, hip or leg problems, and a vest top helps for shoulder or neck problems.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the injury and your goals. I'll give you an honest idea at your assessment, and many people find a short block of sessions, with exercises in between, gives the best results.
Where are you, and is there parking?
I'm inside Three Sixty Gym, 17a Bridge Street, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 1AE. Come in through the gym entrance and take a seat in the lounge, and I'll come and call you in when I'm ready. Paid parking is available at the nearby Aldi and at The Heart car park.
When are you open?
The clinic is open Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 9pm, so evening appointments are available if you work during the day. On Mondays I run a mobile clinic and can come to you.
Do you do home visits?
Yes. On Mondays I offer a mobile clinic, treating you at home or at your club. Sessions are the usual price plus a travel fee depending on how far I travel, so get in touch with your postcode for a quote.
Payments and policies
How much does it cost?
An initial assessment and treatment is £65, follow-up sessions are £50, and sports massage starts from £40. Bundles of 3, 6 or 12 sessions bring the cost down. See the prices page for everything.
Can I use private health insurance?
Not at the moment. I'm not currently registered with private health insurers, so sessions are paid for directly.
How do I pay?
You can pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least one working day's notice so the slot can go to someone else. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at the full session price. The full terms and conditions explain everything.

4. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown on the prices page. If prices change, any appointment you have already booked keeps its original price.

8. What to expect from treatment
I will always do my best to help you recover and reach your goals, but every person and injury is different, so specific results cannot be guaranteed. Your progress also depends on following the advice and exercise programme agreed with you.
9. Behaviour
I am committed to treating every patient with dignity and respect, and I ask the same in return. I may end an appointment if behaviour is abusive, threatening or inappropriate.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. I am not responsible for problems that result from information you did not tell me, or from not following the advice given.
11. Feedback and complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of your care, please tell me so I can put it right. I will acknowledge your complaint within [5] working days. If you are still not satisfied, you can raise your concern with BASRaT, the professional body I am registered with, at basrat.org.
